Its been mad but that's another season almost over

Its been a while since we wrote on our blog but things have all gone a bit chaotic!

It started with all of us getting covid and Wendy ending up in hospital with a blood clot on her lung as a result of covid. We then spent July and August building up our strength and getting back to full health.

We attended several event during August including Made in Shropshire markets in Shrewsbury and Much Wenlock, Berriew Show, Hawkestone Hall garden party and Minsterley show where John won third in the best trade stand competition.

We also had a few days in Scotland where we managed to go and see John's most favourite group live, we saw Coldplay Music of the Spheres tour live in Glasgow and it was totally amazing! We also watched the kids get some pretty amazing A level and GCSE results.

But we were soon back to earth and the world of bees with a bump. After a week of mad preparation we got to Ludlow Food Festival, which was a fantastic event to attend. The bees came along as well. We had a fantastic weekend even though I had a 4 am alarm call on my birthday! It was great to meet so many people and to talk honey and bees all weekend was amazing. To see how people reacted to tasting our honeys is great. Our honeys were described as Devine, exquisite, interesting, not like honey (this came from someone who didn't like honey).

We are now feeding our colonies, preparing them for winter and waiting to finish our extraction for summer as we have had a heater element break in our sump. But, once fixed and the extraction completed, we are aiming for the big workshop tidy up!!

We still have events that we are attending in the next few months so keep an eye on our social media to see where you can find us.
